¿Cómo representa el hogar de la artista Afia Zecharia la discriminación de género, étnica y política?

Resumen

La presente investigación analiza y presenta la figura de Afia Zecharia como artista outsider, situando su producción desde el contexto histórico, político y social para entender su historia y obra. A través de entrevistas familiares, análisis  cultural y revisión histórica, el presente texto ofrece un acercamiento a la figura de la artista desde la óptica que la envolvía como artista y como mujer, dando como resultado una historia de vida que responde a cómo su obra surge de la marginalidad social, la inmigración y la tradición cultural yemení, incorporando influencias de India, Etiopía y Oriente Medio. 

La exclusión de mujeres, el analfabetismo y las estructuras patriarcales como factores que condicionaron su invisibilidad artística son también otro de los pilares  para entender la figura de Afia. Sus muñecas, su estética personal  y su casa decorada, como principal lienzo y motor creativo, se interpretan como formas de resistencia y reconstrucción identitaria.
