PLUMK! or how to introduce feminist artistic practices in higher artistic education for greater involvement of students
Abstract
Plumk! means research, art and education.
A project that is born from the happening to introduce socially engaged artistic practices in higher artistic education. Action, provocation and improvisation.
It is a method for generating critical knowledge in a collective way and demonstrating that arts education must go hand in hand with contemporary practices. Transform the educational space into a space for creation, the student into a creator, tasks into pieces and exercises into projects. Feeling part of something.
Make transformative projects from research, art and education. Enlighten those dissidents hidden by the art history. Question ourselves if we are the ones who perpetuate this situation. Look around us. Demobilize the hegemonic structures. Identify the problems. Share perspectives. Build together. Expose and expose yourself.
This photo essay proposes a visual and narrative tour of some of the sessions held at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid, where this method has been put into practice with 3rd and 4th Grade and Master's degree students during 2019 – 2020 academic year.
