From the written to the visual: poetry in two languages

Abstract

Since poetry was born, a few thousand years ago, it has been developed as a tool or resource to deal with the deepest reflections, but it has not only been done in writing, like we think, the poetry has also made its way towards the visual, turning the lyric into the plastic; the idea in pictogram. It is understood, then, that poetry does not have to be only written, and that, on the contrary, it finds another form of expression in the visual. But, is it possible to translate a poetic text into visual language? Even trying it already raises many other questions that we will try to solve in this investigation that it is a photo-essay. The investigation is intended, as an own experimentation and example, to translate some written poems into the visual, and to reflect on the aesthetic possibilities and human perceptions that this may generate.
